The aversion of a small disaster.

I almost lost one of the files I was working on in Photoshop. I open it up to work on it (preview looked fine) and lo there is a single layer of fuzz or tv static looking stuff only in colour. It was a comic I was working on involving a squirrel. A couple of you will know what I’m on about.
I could have cried for a minute there I was quite a way through it, it would have killed me to try and re do it. But wait I said to myself, I uploaded a WIP on another site to get some tips on it. And so I go there and it was there in all its glory :dance: Ok it was a lot smaller and reduce quality but Photoshop seems to have done a good job at sorting that out when I re-sized it and nothing that a little painting over wont fix for the rest of it.
It isn’t the first time it’s happen either, I’m not sure of the exact reason it happens but I remember it had a little trouble saving the last time.

Moral of the story; back ups :<

I look back at some of the older ones and pretty much cringe. I sometimes wonder if I would eventually take them down but I don't think so. Serves as a nice reminder of how much I have improved in the last few year. Three years is a lot of time to get something done in, here's to another three.

Well your journals amused me and I wish to see where all this goes and how you develop this whole thing. Please don't disappoint me by dropping this to soon. Some might find you annoying and fake for doing something like this but It's far better than a lot of the crappy stories you get on here I'm sure.

I don't know if you actually want people to believe you or not but if nothing else you have my attention. I'll be watching as long as this stays interesting to me.

Thank you; I'm glad that you appreciate my work. Most people get turned away from my art because of its look. I have absolutely no drawing talent in this human body, so I am forced to use Microsoft Paint to do my work. What I lack in skill, though, I try to make up with the richness of my details. Every image has its own story, but together, they form the history of my kind.

I have begun to produce images and stories surrounding the deceased members of my race, as I'm sure you are aware. From there, I don't know what I'll do; but I will never stop telling the stories. There's just so many to tell!

I go at art the other way, no point slapping on detailed if you haven't got the basics down.
People actually ignore details when just glancing at things or else forget them later on. It's not something necessarily conscious and it doesn't mean that detail when done right wont be noticed and appreciated. It's just that we get bombarded with all these details during our daily lives and we can only remember so much. Along with that you can get away with just implying detail because people are very good at filling in the gaps themselves. People are good visualizers,that is why story telling is enjoyable and effective.

Maybe you should even forgo the MS paintings altogether and do it with words. Story telling seems much more your thing. Even when you have got them MS paintings the focus really does seem to be the comment below it. Focus on that instead, work on that, get better at that and turn it into something other people and you will enjoy more.

Thank you. I was planning to write some stories, but I havn't gotten around to it yet. When I'm done with my current project, it will defenitely be my next priority; I would just like to finish what I started.

No problem.
There will be plenty of things you will be unsure about you just need to make sure you don't let it frighten you into quitting out. You have a goal so work towards it. It’s going to take some time but your only 25 you have plenty of time to achieve it and more.

If you want to do a comic then learn what you need to do that comic. Learn to draw, learn to form a good story and learn how to set up a comic effectively. After that learn how to get published. You can either go to a publishers or self publish. Hell I’d give it about 5 years, it enough time to improve quite nicely in all these areas but not to terribly far off in the future.
